Summer School for Yoga Teachers: Boost Your Marketability with an Anatomy Refresher, Confident Sequencing and Profitable Retreat Design

Say hello to an early summer! Join Candace for 5 weeks of continuing ed workshops. This 5-part program offers a unique blend of theory, practice, and practical insights to help you become a more well-rounded, marketable, and effective instructor.

This series was designed:

  1. to help you feel more confident sequencing intentionally for diverse students, abilities, and studios, making you more marketable

  2. to teach you how to leverage this marketability and start hosting your own yoga retreats

This program is comprised of five 2-hour workshops and counts as 10 hours towards continuing ed as a yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance. Upon completion of the 5-part series, you’ll receive a certificate confirming your 10 hours.

Here’s how it works:

  • You have 3 options: join us for all 5 workshops, join just for Retreat Design (workshop 1), or join for just the anatomical sequencing (workshops 2-5). To receive your 10 hours of continuing ed, you must complete the entire 5-part series.

  • All workshops are hosted via Zoom. We’ll meet June 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th, and July 2nd from 6PM - 8PM EST.

Workshop 1 — Profitable Yoga Retreats w. Maegan Burke

Tuesday, June 4th at 6 pm EST

You'll learn how to plan and host lucrative yoga retreats while managing your energy, combating fatigue, and truly enjoying the experience. From crafting compelling itineraries to operations and logistics, this comprehensive workshop equips you with all the tools for successful yoga retreat design.

Then we’ll dive into "Understanding & Sequencing for Posterior Chain Activating Peak Poses" series over the following four Tuesdays:

Workshop 2 — Postural Assessments and Understanding What's Going On

Tuesday, June 11th at 6PM EST

In this 2-hour workshop, we will set the foundation by covering activities of daily living and their impact on posture, basics of mobility, major joints and movement, intentional sequencing, a posterior chain strengthening yoga class, anatomy of the posterior chain, reciprocal inhibition, and more.

Workshop 3 — How to Release Tightness from the Body

Tuesday, June 18th at 6PM EST

Building on the previous session, we'll explore principles of foam rolling, different muscle release tools, types of stretching (active, passive, dynamic, PNF), and how to incorporate them into sequences. We'll also discuss areas like the neck, chest, hips, and more.

Workshop 4 — How to Strengthen the Posterior Chain

Tuesday, June 25th at 6PM EST

Continue expanding your knowledge with bodyweight and light resistance movements to strengthen the glutes, lower back, mid back, upper back, and shoulders.

Workshop 5 — How to Sequence for Posterior Chain Strength

Tuesday, July 2nd at 6PM EST

In this final workshop, you'll learn to use the principles of Intelligent Anatomical Sequencing to craft sequences for three different peak poses, putting all your newfound skills into practice.
