Curtains Are In!

Finally!!!! My curtains are finally, finally in! It took forever and a day to get them (they arrived 3 weeks after I ordered them), and it took a bunch of trips to Home Depot and one trip to Ikea, but we did it, people! They’re finally in! I could not be happier about it.

Curtains really do feel like they make a room, and my living space desperately needed them because I have this giant window at the front of the house and my neighborhood is pretty busy. There are always people walking their dog, pushing a stroller, and driving by, so it truly felt like a fish bowl in here before the curtains were installed.

After toying with West Elm or Pottery Barn, I ended up going with 3H Linen (although here is a more affordable option on sale!). If you do want to go with 3h Linen, you can use code 10LINEN for 10% off and I suppose every little bit helps, even though these were bananas expensive. Whatever.

Anyway, I ended up going with the Vidga single track ceiling mount, which required some trips to Home Depot to get them cut to the right length because of course I needed 3 for one set of windows and 2 for another. Then I ordered these nylon curtain hooks from Amazon to hang them from the track.

I love how they came out. They just barely kiss the floor and I’m so impressed with my measuring skills to make that happen.

Up next on my list of things to do: I need to get a slender console to go behind the couch that I want to decorate with plants etc, and have a place to put your coffee mug when you’re hanging on the couch. I also need to buy some nightstands, but they are just so expensive and I’m on a strict budget these days, so I’m stalking Facebook Marketplace like crazy to see what pops up. I’m also looking for a little multipurpose stool/side table thing to go along this wall in my living room where I want to put a plant, and I’m on the hunt for a skinny plant stand/bookcase type thing for the corner of the dining area where I can put….you guessed it, more plants, haha. I have a vision of what I want the house to look like and I’m just trusting the process. Anyway! Thanks for following along on my little home decor journey.

If you’re interested, I’m hosting a Mindset and Momentum workshop next weekend that I’m pretty pumped about. If you’ve just been feeling a little negativo lately, and are looking for a shift in your approach to wellness, fitness, nutrition or just life in general, come! Details here.
