Current Make Up Routine
The other day I felt like I crushed my make up routine and posted this pic to Instagram, and many of you agreed, asking for the routine. Annoyingly, my routine is rarely the same because I just have so many products I’m trying to work my way through (I’m on a self-imposed shopping ban), but here’s what I did on this particular day:
Skin Care
I find that my make up will always sit better and last longer when I take the time to do some skincare and actually let it sit on the skin for a bit before applying makeup. On this particular day, I used:
Serum and did my gua sha routine. I’ve been doing gua sha for a few months now and it really and truly does make such a difference. Just YouTube it to figure out what to do for your face and get to it. Then wait at least a minute or two to let the serum soak in.
Then I did this serum, and while that soaked in, I did my brows with this pencil.
Then I used this moisturizer and I let that absorb for another minute or so. The combo of this moisturizer and the serum in step 2 are so, so good. Your skin feels like glass.
Then I used this primer. On this particular day, I had a lot to do and needed my makeup to last alllll day, and it was going to be approx 9 million degrees. I don’t always do primer, but I do when I have long, hot days ahead.
After that, I used this concealer for under my eyes, at the 11’s area, down the center of my nose, and on either side of the base of my nose. I apply it, but I don’t blend it in just yet. Something about letting it stay on my face for a min before blending I feel like does something. I dunno what that something is, but just trust the process, haha.
Then I use this contour stick, and again, I don’t blend it in just yet.
Then I mix this make up tint and this foundation together (I find the mixing gives a little more coverage), and I dab it on my face w my thumb. Then I wait another minute. THEN blend everything - the concealer, contour and foundation combo. Then wait another minute.
Then I put just a light tap of this foundation powder along my lower face, neck, under the eyes, and in the T zone to set the makeup, and a light swirl of this along my cheeks and in the shape of a 3 on the sides of my face for a little warmth and glow.
Then I line my lips with this in shade Lauren, put on some lip stuff, do this cream blush followed by a tap of the powder that comes with it to set it.
Eyes: I use this in the crease and down the sides of the nose, use a basic neutral for my lid, line with this and smudge it upwards, and used this mascara. Then I set the whole face with this setting spray.
It takes me about 10-15 minutes or so and lasts all day!
